I know everyone is talking about Paris Hilton right now. I am one of the many Americans who said who gives a fuck about this bitch. With all that said I do believe this says a great deal about our society.

Okay so Paris got a dui lost her license and was on probation, then got another dui while on a suspendid license. She originally got 45 days then it was reduced to 23, and now house arrest or (BIG ASS MANSION arrest). Let me get this right she was out driving drunk and could of caused some real harm to people. So the possiblity of killing someone when you have already been warned in the state of California is not that bad?? She basically gets a slap on the wrist while... Any personal responsibility?

I really find this disturbing because 75% of America can tell you how many days Paris was supposed to be in jail, but only about half that can tell you how many Americans have been killed in Iraq.

Back to my original point every actual news channel you go to you will see something about Paris Hilton, but when it comes to our troops and their well-being - ZERO reports.

1. Universal Health care. With so many Americans struggling to have medical insurance I think that it's about time for the government to step in.



2. Pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan. At this point the United States should abandon our military involvement in the Middle East. I truly believe that if the military leaves the area then the threat of terrorism will decrease. Go ahead and add stop support of Israel, this has been wrong for a long time but I'll save that for another time.


3. Put boatloads of money into renewable energy sources. Hybrid cars, solar homes, whatever it makes good sense to do that. It'll help politically and it would help the environment. Maybe pull some money out of the "war on drugs" that is still going on.
4. Dump funds into education. If knowledge is power and the kids are the future then we need to give them more power to ensure a better future. Maybe stop building prisons and such, that should free up some funds.


5. More funding for public access television. The media has become completely focused on the bottomline and doesn't offer much in the way of in depth information. With more money for public access journalism could flourish and offer the masses actual information as opposed to what celebutante went on a coke bender.
