I am ranking these teams by a mixture of championships, great players, playoff apperances, team direction (up or down), bounce back from down seasons, basically team performance over a pretty long span of time. Now for the list...
- New York Yankees MLB. Love them or hate them, and most of you do hate them, you cannont argue with their greatness.
- Los Angeles Lakers NBA. So much history so many great players wore the purple and gold. High profile city and a very high profile team.
- San Antonio Spurs NBA. Small market, always contending for a title and always does it with class. One of the premier sports franchises in American sports.
- Dallas Cowboys. NFL. Like the Lakers this is a very high profile team. Nicknamed America's Team. Over the years the 'boys have had times of being untouchable.
- Detroit RedWings NHL. I don't even follow hockey and I know that the RedWings are great, thats just how great they have been.
There are many other great teams. Many franchises that could be on the list. New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Green BayPackers, Pittsburg Steelers, Chicago Bulls. Feel free to add your own top five franchises.
